What Article 32 says
Organisations must implement appropriate technical and organisational measures, including ‘a process for regularly testing, assessing and evaluating the effectiveness’ of those measures. The ICO’s guidance points to vulnerability scanning and penetration testing as ways to do this.
Why it matters after a breach
If personal data is exposed, being able to show that you tested your systems and acted on the findings helps demonstrate you took security seriously.
